About Us – Dedicated, Experienced & Caring Childminders
Hello! My name is Karen Santana, and together with my husband Paco, we are registered childminders passionate about providing a safe, loving, and enriching environment for children.
We were officially registered by the Care Commission in 2006, and we are authorized to care for up to six children, including our own sons, Azzay. With years of experience, specialized training, and a deep commitment to child development, we ensure that each child receives personalized attention, support, and guidance in a warm, family-oriented setting.

As fully registered childminders, both my husband and I have undergone thorough background checks through Disclosure Scotland to ensure the highest level of trust and security. Additionally, our home has been professionally inspected by the Care Commission, following strict regulations to guarantee a safe and stimulating space for children to play, learn, and grow.
To provide the best care possible, I hold a Child and Infant Emergency First Aid Certificate and have completed a two-year childcare training course. Our home is annually inspected, and in our most recent assessment in June 2019, we received a Grade 5 (Very Good) rating—reflecting the quality and dedication we bring to our childminding services.

A Welcoming, Multicultural Environment
In addition to providing exceptional childcare, our home is a culturally enriching space. Since Paco is originally from Spain, we naturally integrate Spanish into our daily interactions, creating a fun and engaging opportunity for children to learn basic Spanish words and phrases in an informal and enjoyable way. Although Paco speaks fluent English, children often pick up Spanish naturally during their time with us, adding a valuable bilingual aspect to their experience.
A Passion for Caring & Nurturing Development
Beyond qualifications and experience, childminding is deeply personal to me. I have always been a caring person, and my love for children of all ages inspired me to pursue this profession. Becoming a childminder allows me to use my natural nurturing abilities, helping children feel safe, supported, and encouraged as they explore the world around them.
Our mission is to provide not just care, but a foundation for lifelong learning, emotional growth, and happy childhood memories.
